Though we couldn't figure out how to boost speed with the nitrous or take short turns with the hand brake, those controls may just be part of the game we couldn't find. Driving is driving, of course, and most players will figure out the basic controls: Up, down, left, and right control your car the R key resets you in the middle of the track, facing forward V changes your view and the spacebar shows the rear-view mirror. This demo has an excellent look and feel, but it's up to you to learn how to play. We enjoyed learning the driving mechanics and basic racing tactics, but with no instructions, we wondered what gameplay we were missing. The demo provides an excellent preview of the racing action, if not the customization features.
